MEAL PREP LIKE A BOSS PART 1 – CHICKARN

I’m sure there are many, many of you eating endless meals that look like this…

Did someone say DRY??

I’ve just stolen this from my bestie’s Instagram page and I’m definitely gonna get grief for doing it! But he’s also our official taste tester so hey, gotta take the rough with the smooth dude.

Despite the insistence that it’s a means to an end I don’t believe everyone who says this and think that in fact it’s a lack of confidence and time for creation and imagination when you’ve got to get in that fourth set of squats…

Well peeps, let me take the guess work out for you and GUARANTEE that these recipes are quick or quicker than you’re doing now.  Get on board with the revolution people and check out the BBQS AREN’T JUST FOR BOYS blog post to show just how frickin EASY it is to cook on a grill and say no more to boring food.

CHICKARN RECIPE 1: ITALIAN BABA DA BOOBDY FOIL PACKETS

Roughly chop your Italian veg for the grill.  We both have asparagus, peppers and brocollini, Jack has potatoes and I have corguette in mine for a slightly lower carb option.

Put your raw chicken breast and vegetables in a piece of foil large enough to fold up into packets and sprinkle Basil, Oregano, Thyme, salt and pepper.

Time taken?  roughly 5 minutes…

CHICKARN RECIPE 2: MEXICAN HASSEL BACK CHICKEN

Time Taken? 4 minutes…

CHICKARN RECIPE 3: TRAEGER GOOD GRILL

IMG_2903[1]
For good old fashioned grilled BBQ chicken let Traeger do the hard work for you!  This is my favourite rub for chicken as I love the citrussy notes in it.

Time taken?  Less than a minute…

So in total our prep has taken 10 minutes, 15 minutes at the max and it’s ready to hit the wood pellet grill.  Again I am shamelessly plugging the BBQ AREN’T JUST FOR BOYS POST as we used this meal prep to demonstrate how to get the Traeger going, it just so happens I am the star of the show… honest.

On they go, the same time as we are cooking dinner.  Saving energy and all that. Set the Traeger to 190C and keep them going until they reach an internal temperature of 75C

ANNNNDDDDD…. bosh.  A weeks meal prep done ready to be added to micro rice, sweet potatoes, Traeger salted potatoes (in the pic above), or like me with a simple salad.

So all get grilling and tell your £3 Tesco meal deal to go kick rocks… I know how to prep like a boss.
