HOT DOGS WITH WALNUT GHERKIN RELISH
Jazz up your hot dogs with this unique and delicious relish which can be made in advance.
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 1 onion sliced
- 50 g walnuts roughly chopped
- 1 gherkin finely diced
- 1 tbsp American yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp gherkin juice
- 1 pack Nisa sausages
- 4 hot dog rolls split down the centre
Preheat the grill to 200°C.
Heat the oil in a cast iron pan over the barbecue and fry the onion until golden. Add the walnuts and sauté for a further minute.
Transfer the onions and walnuts to a bowl and mix in the gherkin, mustard and gherkin juice and set aside.
Cook the sausages on indirect heat, turning until evenly cooked and reach an internal temperature of 75°C.
Serve in the buns topped with the delicious walnut relish.
