DATE PASTE

Whether or not you believe sugar is the root of all evil, have embarked on a paleo or whole 30 diet, or simply want something a bit different as a sweet treat date paste can be used as a substitute for sugar.

Dates are good for bone health, loaded with soluble fibre, which may help to lower the total cholesterol in your blood and contain minerals like selenium, magnesium, manganese and copper.  Not only this but dates contain vitamins C and D and are rich in iron.

Plus... dates help keep you ahem, regular.

Ingredients

  • 450 g pitted dates
  • 250 g water

Instructions

  1. place your dates in an air tight jar and submerge in the water.  Leave overnight for the dates to soften.

  2. Place the dates AND the water in a food processor and blitz until smooth.  Store in an air tight jar for up to 6 months.
