SYN FREE CHIPS
Any diet which allows chips is A-OK in my book. It seems as if many dieters out there have been using our seasonings to jazz up their syn free chips. There is actually an art to producing a good quality plate of chips, especially when they are not being assisted by the deep fat fryer, so take heed from the professionals, our recipe is courtesy of
@slim.and.gin who provided us with Meat Dust Chips
and
@swpeachesdiary who used the Cowboy Coffee
Ingredients
- 4 Large Floury Potatoes such as Maris Piper or King Edward
- Water for boiling
- Frylight
- Jack's Meat Shack Seasonings
Instructions
-
Peel the potatoes and slice into chips. Ensure the chips are all of similar size to ensure they cook
-
Leave the potatoes to soak in cold water for at least 1 hour.
-
When ready for your chippies, preheat the oven or BBQ grill to 200c
-
Drain the potatoes and pat dry with a clean tea towel or kitchen roll.
-
Spritz the potatoes with fry light and toss them about to ensure they are all coated to prevent chip stickage.
-
Place chips onto a baking tray and throw them into the oven for 15 minutes.
-
Remove from the oven, season with Jack's Meat Shack seasoning and cook for a further 10-15 minutes or until crispy golden brown and still fluffy inside.
